Digital Art

Space Scene.png

In my spare time I like to create laptop backgrounds and images that could make interesting stickers. This first one is a simple space scene using different Illustrator techniques. By masking my designs I was able to create a faded effect on the middle planet. For the Earth I used the Extrude and Bevel tool in Illustrator to create a perfect sphere, then adjusted the lighting and wrapping a map of the world on top.

This scene is perfect for a laptop background. Heavily influenced by the game “Fire Watch”, I wanted to play with creating shadows and depth in a flat 2D design. Using gradients and different Illustrator tools, I felt I was able to really capture the atmosphere of the game.

This one clearly being inspired by Adobes Creative Cloud system, I wanted to express how well the programs I use integrate so well together. At the same time this gave me the opportunity to once again play with lighting and shadows. Taking a flat 2D design and adding reflections and shadow on the pipes made them really pop and make them appear to be rounded. Playing with depth in this manner shows just how a little detail can really change the way an image is perceived.
